The ultimate tribute to a rock god. Back in the early 60’s the Doors got their big break when Electra records signed them after being the house band for several months. The Whiskey a go go is still there and still hosts many bands but to me, and many other fans, the Whiskey is where the Doors grew into themselves as a band including the first performance of their now legendary rendition of ‘The End’

It brings (more) tears to my eyes to see that the Whiskey still remembers the Doors and are paying tribute in the only way Ray would accept. (sniffs) Ladies and Gentlemen, appearing on our marque for the last time is Ray Manzerek of the Doors now off to bigger and better places though he will be missed here.
